of the Human Genome Project

Shameka, Dr. Carroll, and Dr. Ciaffa
This Community Initiative sponsored by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching
has been developed to study the history, techniques and social consequences of the Human Genome Project. The
community in the Implementation Phase of this project is comprised of two faculty and one student:
Dr. Jay Ciaffa from Philosopy and Dr. Marion Carroll with student Shameka Darisaw from Chemistry.
Objectives in this implementation phase are for our student to prepare a research paper on a relevant
topic and give an oral presentation of this paper at the end of this phase. the faculty will be
implementing the discussion and resources developed in the first phase into courses scheduled for the
Fall 2003 and Spring 2004 semesters. This phase will conclude with desiminations via a submission to
Bioscience and
XulaNexus and with departmental presentations.
Here is provided a link to the
minutes of our meetings during this Implementation Phase.
